What time of year is best for a spring photoshoot?

Springtime in UK begins on 1 March until 31 May.

Daffodils are at their best in March and Blossom is a bit later in April. See more on Blossom Photoshoots here.

What to wear for an outdoor Bristol photoshoot?

Planning your outfit for a Spring photoshoot will make all the difference to the appearance of your photographs.

White is always a good choice

pastels work well and blue. Just avoid green if at all possible.

Block colours generally always come out well for photoshoots as the patterns aren't distracting from the portrait. If you like bold patterns they can stand out against the red and green backdrop. Black and white looks great.

Many clients send me phone photographs of their outfits so I can help advise on your choice.

Lisa has been running digital photography courses in Bristol for over 5 years and was voted Bristol’s Family photographer of the year 2020.

We spotted Lisa's talent after a friend showed her newborn photoshoot to us. I really loved the style of the photos (they were beautiful) and having a photoshoot in our own home with any personal props and touches we wanted was very appealing. Lisa immediately put us all at ease and somehow managed to make our flat (which she did not need us to spruce up or change!) a wonderful backdrop to some much loved and treasured photos of our newborn son and his big sister. We were so impressed we went onto have an xmas family minishoot 2 years ruuning. There was no question we wanted Lisa to take photos of our third child as we knew we would get some gorgeous photos of him and the whole family. She also got some lovely photos of all three of our very young children (all less than 3.5) which is no mean feat! We have had a fantastic lavender shoot as well which was not only fabulous fun but also resulted in some more beautiful photos of us and the kids. So all in all, as you can tell, we would very highly recommend Lisa. Our new home is going to be filled with these special moments that Lisa has captured so well. Thank you Lisa xxx

Lisa is absolutely amazing. She has taken photos of both my pregnancies, newborns and 1 year photos of my eldest daughter. I cannot recommend her enough. She puts you at ease, is kind and gentle which makes the shoot fun. She brilliant with babies and toddlers. And her photos are beautiful. You will not be disappointed!
