This is a very common question and the following is just a rough guide (the timing is different for every woman). I advise to go ahead as soon as your bump is nice and round anything from 24 weeks and just before the end of pregnancy.

Ideally book your maternity photo shoot after your 20 week scan to ensure a date is available.  Even if you are 38 weeks pregnant don’t be hesitant to call. I usually always have weekday availability.

Please don’t worry about how you look. Pregnancy is an amazing time and NOT documenting your pregnancy and body will be one of the things you will most regret.

I am an expert at lighting the female body for the most flattering photographs you can imagine. I use light to emphasise your bump and natural curves by focusing your attention on what matters..

It is your choice whether you remain clothed or not and the photographer will not pressurise you in any way. You can decide on the day based on how comfortable you feel.

I believe the best place to take these photographs is in your own home or out on location.

A pregnancy photo shoot in your home has so many benefits. You can comfortably change into different outfits. Include your partner for some photographs (great if they are working from home to call them out for 20 minutes). Rest whenever you need and have refreshments!

You may have the nursery ready and it is so lovely to get a photograph of you in the babies nursery looking at their cot or their new clothes and teddies.

I live in Bristol but am freelance which means I bring all of my equipment to your home. This is a luxury service in which your family can be photographed in the comfort of your own home without having top make a trip out with a newborn baby.

I cover anywhere an hour travel from Bristol for no extra charge. beyond this I charge 40p per extra mile. So I photograph in Wales, Gloucester, Cotswolds, Somerset, Bath, London and more!

Many couples are in the middle of redecorating during pregnancy or renovating. This really isn’t a problem for home photo-shoots.

I would say roughly 80 percent of my maternity clients are having house work done.

I use a small space and have a backdrop that can be set up in your bedroom, living room or kitchen.

If you are worried about mess, don't be. With photography we can show only what we want to see. To create an empty de-cluttered room you will be amazed and what can be hidden under the bed! Just removing items from your bedside tables makes a huge difference too.

Yes of course! Everyone is welcome in the photos. Siblings shots will mean so much to you. Pets are family members too and I always do my best to include them in a family portrait with baby.

I have advice guides to help you to select your clothing when you book but her are a few tips:

It is a good idea to have a nice natural photograph of you fully clothed that you may want to share with friends and family.

After that you can choose to wear different outfits or start to reveal your bump. I have a selection of maternity gowns, some with a slit in the middle to reveal your gorgeous bump.

Many women choose to have photographs in their underwear for maternity art photographs. It may buy something new or you can wear pre-pregnancy underwear (it is almost certainly going to be too tight but is bearable for a few photographs and usually lifts the bust brilliantly!)

For a milk bath I provide the lace gowns in sizes 10-18.

For outdoors I advise on the colours based on the location.

It really is as simple as it sounds. We run a nice warm, water bath and add milk to create the white colour. The milk makes the water less transparent and this allows you to keep your dignity as we focus on photographing your baby bump.

I don't offer hair and makeup but you can find many beauticians who offer this service. This is an approximate cost guide, but this will vary depending on who you book and their experience level. Please make sure you allow enough time before so you will be ready for the start of your photoshoot.

Most maternity photo shoot my clients book a photo shoot that starts at their home and then we go outside for an hour. If the weather is bad on this day most people go ahead with indoor photographs as it takes a lot of organising to arrange the time, prepare outfits etc.

If you have booked specifically for an outdoor photo shoot you can reschedule for not extra cost if the weather is bad. When I say 'bad' I mean constant rain or gale force winds. I don't cancel for light showers as often the light is gorgeous and the sun always come out in-between showers.

The best weather for a photo shoot? Cloud- you wouldn't believe it but cloud is the most flattering light for portraits! Your images will have great colour even on a cloudy day.

Yes, my clients love having digital files to share and keep for future printing. You can print to your hearts desire. Digital files are always of the highest quality and never watermarked.

I do encourage the value of the printed product and every package includes a set of prints. I also sell a variety of exquisite wall art not found on the high street. Plus luxury photo albums.

The session fee is £99 and includes your photoshoot. Images are purchased from the price list when you see your beautiful photographs.. 

2-3 weeks after your photo shoot You will have an online gallery or personal visit if you would like to see prints, albums and wall art or would like help choosing tour photos.

You can then make your selection of package choice and order prints/albums or wall art at the same time.
