Photography Courses for Children & Teens in Bristol
Who are the photography courses suitable for?
I run a very popular parent and child photography day for children aged 8-18. You can learn alongside your child whilst spending the day together.
All of my courses support the beginner level and challenge the advanced. Everything is explained and demonstrated in a fun and easy way to remember. Alongside all courses support folders are provided for you to take away and continue learning.
Your photography work can be critiqued at any time in the supportive Facebook group so you continue to develop your skills beyond the course.

The Parent & Teen course structure
You can use any camera or mobile phone. A camera can make a considerable difference to a photograph but understanding light and knowing what makes a good photograph can outway any expensive camera.
I use a Canon 5D Mark 3 and I am going to upgrade to a mirrorless frame next. I love looking through a view finder but see the next generation looking more at the display screen rather than the viewfinder, both ways get the same results!
During the day we will cover Aperture priority and shutter speed priority. Look at portraiture, macro, and creative mini studio photography. You will gain a toolkit of understanding on what settings to use and for when. We look at lighting in a practical way that is easy to remember and also some photography hacks that don't cost a lot of money and easy to recreate at home. The course is engaging and fun. Parents and children connect for the day and have fun- it's so lovely to see and I thoroughly enjoy the day too. Please message me with any questions or if you are looking for something more advanced or tailored to your child's GCSE or A level photography you may prefer a 1 to 1 session.
I was an art lecturer for 10 years and an external examiner for 2 awarding bodies for GCSE. A Levels and Vocational courses in the arts.
