As a new parent, You have a choice to have your baby photographed at home or in a photographic studio.
Each is equally great, but you will have very different experiences and photographs.
If you would like to remember your baby just as they are, completely natural and beautiful I fully recommend a documentary/lifetstyle photoshoot. Very gentle natural posing with no props apart from those in your baby's nursery. Special blankets, gifted teddies, pets and siblings!
If you prefer more posed photographs. For example, babies dressed up, then we would recommend a professional baby portrait studio.

what happens during a baby photoshoot in your home?
A baby photoshoot in your home will happen like this. Your photographer arrives at your home in Portishead or, greets the family, chats to any siblings and meets your baby! Your photographer will usually have a walk around your home checking areas for nice natural light or seeing if you have a baby nursery.
For studio style images a bean bag and blankets will be set up in either your living room or main bedroom. Lighting is on and for any particularly dull weather days.
The baby photoshoot is baby led, this means that when your baby is settled they will be photographed. If they need feeding or a nappy change or cuddles we just pause and talk baby sleep tips whilst we wait for baby to settle again.
Your newborn photographer will capture individual baby portraits and then family photos and siblings. When siblings are involved the bedroom is often an ideal spot for a family photograph.

when to book your newborn baby photoshoot?
Newborn babies can be photographed from age 5 days to 3 months.
Many parents like to book photographs taken whilst partners are on paternity leave in the first 2 weeks.This isn’t always possible for everyone so don’t worry if you need to wait a little longer. Your baby will be smiling at around 7 weeks old.

You can book your newborn baby photo shoot using the online calendar for both babies already born, or in advance with the due date, with the exact date arranged once baby is born.

I'm able to travel to you and bring the equipment and backdrops I need to produce the most flattering photographs.
